Information Better Diagrams uses

Better Diagrams uses Mermaid source and the rendered diagram artifact required to create, save, display, revise, and export diagrams in Confluence. It accesses only the content and permissions available to the current Confluence user.

Storage and processing

Diagram rendering is performed locally within the product boundary. Better Diagrams does not send Mermaid source to a remote rendering service. Saved source and saved rendered artifacts remain within Confluence and its supported storage boundary.

Product usage measurement

To understand whether the app works for teams, Better Diagrams records a small set of content-free usage events: the app was installed or uninstalled, the editor was opened, a first diagram was saved, a saved diagram was displayed on a page, a diagram was edited again, an export used the saved diagram, a save failed (with an error code only), and which days the app was used for editing or viewing. Each event carries a date, the app's license state (for example, trial or active), and a pseudonymous site identifier: a salted one-way hash of the Confluence site ID, not the site name or address. It is pseudonymous rather than anonymous, because we hold the salt and can link it to a site ID we already know, for example to match usage with Marketplace licence records. We treat it as personal data. Events never include diagram source or images, page content, page titles or IDs, user names, account IDs, or email addresses.

These events are written to Atlassian-hosted Forge app logs and storage. They are not sent to any third-party analytics service. They are used only to measure and improve Better Diagrams.

Sharing and retention

Better Diagrams does not sell personal data or use diagram content for advertising. Confluence and Atlassian platform controls govern installation, authorization, storage, and access to content.

Your choices and contact
