Pengy: Sleep Companion Privacy Policy

Pengy: Sleep Companion (bundle ID com.growsoft.pengyrig) is an iPhone app published by Alexander Landaverde. This policy describes how the app handles information.

Superwall analytics

Version 1.0 has no active analytics SDK. Starting with version 1.1, Pengy uses the Superwall SDK (Superwall privacy policy) for product analytics. Superwall receives fixed event names for the onboarding screens you reach and milestones such as onboarding progress, paywall views, and purchase or restore outcomes. Pengy also reports a limited usage funnel: invite-link creation and share-sheet opening, invite acceptance and first neighbour connection, whether you joined through an invite, verified purchase type (Pengy Plus or gear), gift and memory actions (sent, received, opened, or sent as a reply), and one app-active event when Pengy is opened on a new calendar day.

These events contain only the event name and a small set of fixed values, such as whether you joined through an invite and whether an action involved Plus, gear, a gift, or a memory. Opening the share sheet does not tell Pengy whether you sent the invite or who received it. The events do not include your name, free-text content, onboarding answers, selected bedtime, routine, check-in answers, sleep history, gift or memory contents, contacts, invite links, or receipt contents.

The SDK also processes an installation or device identifier and app and device details such as app, SDK and operating-system versions, device model, language, locale, and time zone. It receives the subscription-status information Pengy mirrors from StoreKit. The network connection can be used to infer an approximate region; Pengy does not request or send precise GPS location. These data can be associated with the same app installation over time, so they are linked rather than anonymous. Pengy does not use them to track you across other companies' apps or websites, target advertising, or sell data.

For version 1.1, the App Store privacy categories are Product Interaction (Analytics), Purchases (Analytics and App Functionality), Device ID (Analytics), and Coarse Location (Analytics). Pengy has no account or Pengy-operated server. Superwall handles retention of the SDK data it receives under its own policies. Information stored on your iPhone

Your Pengy name and appearance, bedtime preferences, routine choices, onboarding answers, morning check-in answers, and bedtime history are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. They are not sent to Superwall or to a Pengy server. They are removed when you delete Pengy and its app data; iOS Offload App may keep app data on the device.

The neighbourhood (Apple iCloud)

If you choose to use the neighbourhood, Pengy uses Apple iCloud and CloudKit to share the information needed for that feature with the people in your neighbourhood. This can include your Pengy's name and appearance, igloo decorations, gifts and memories you choose to share, and progress on the shared weekly project. Sharing which nights you completed your routine is optional and can be turned off. Your bedtime, routine choices, and check-in answers are not shared. Your neighbours do not receive your name, email address, or phone number.

Neighbourhood information is stored in the iCloud of the person who started the neighbourhood. The app's developer cannot read that information. A memory you choose to share outside Pengy is shared as a picture through the iOS share sheet.

Purchases and notifications

Apple processes Pengy Plus and gear purchases through StoreKit. Pengy uses verified StoreKit transactions to provide purchases and mirrors subscription status to Superwall. Apple handles payment details and Apple Account credentials; Pengy does not receive them. You can restore gear in Pengy, and manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple Account settings. Optional reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone; Pengy has no push-notification server.

Children and health

Pengy is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Pengy supports a bedtime routine; it is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat sleep conditions.
