Privacy policy
Effective date: September 29, 2026
Rowlume: Knitting Row Counter is an iPhone app for organizing knitting and crochet projects, row and repeat counts, notes, and optional PDF patterns. It is operated by Alexander Landaverde. This policy describes information stored by the app and information processed by the app's analytics and purchase services.
This policy covers the iPhone app. Visits to the publisher's website are covered by the website privacy policy.
Information stored on your iPhone
Project information is saved in the app's local SwiftData store. App preferences and onboarding progress are stored in local app preferences. Depending on what you enter and use, this can include:
- Project names, creation and update dates, and archive status.
- Current row and repeat counts, and project notes.
- Imported PDF pattern files, saved page and reading-guide position, guide visibility, and zoom setting.
- Onboarding progress and the craft, experience, and project-goal choices you make.
- App preferences and service state, including appearance, haptics, whether you enable an optional trial-ending reminder, and a small queue of fixed analytics event names. That queue does not contain your answers or project content.
The app does not require an account and has no app-operated service that stores or syncs your project information. It does not provide project sync. Apple device backups are separate from an app-operated sync service and follow the backup choices on your iPhone.
Device backups and project exports
Imported patterns are copied to the app's Application Support directory. The app does not mark these PDF files as excluded from device backup. Depending on the backup service and settings you choose for your iPhone, an iOS device backup may include project data and imported PDFs. The app does not operate that system backup service.
If you tap Export all projects in Settings, the app prepares a .rowloombackup file with active and archived project information, notes, counters, saved reading positions, and attached PDF patterns. It does not include onboarding answers or unrelated app preferences. If you choose Export plain-text project summary in a project's settings, the app prepares a text file with that project's name, counts, notes, last-updated time, reading position, and whether a pattern is attached. That summary does not include the PDF itself.
Each export is prepared after you request it and then presented in the iOS share sheet. You choose whether to share it and which destination to use. A destination you choose may handle the shared file under its own terms and privacy practices. The app can also import a backup file you select in Files; after you confirm the restore, matching projects are added as copies rather than replacing existing projects.
Copies saved in an iPhone backup or sent to an export destination are separate from the app's current local project records.
For Apple's description of app storage and backup behavior, see Using the file system effectively.
PDFs you choose to import
When you select a PDF from Files, the app copies the unlocked file into its app-managed storage and attaches it to the project you create or update. The current import limit is 50 MB. The app does not change the original file. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
If you request an all-project backup, attached PDFs are included in the backup file. The app also offers a plain-text project summary that does not include the PDF file. Both exports are prepared only after you request them and are shared through the iOS share sheet.
Superwall analytics and paywall events
The app includes SuperwallKit 4.16.3, configured with StoreKit 2 and event tracking enabled. When configured, the app sends fixed-name onboarding and paywall checkpoints: onboarding start and completion, which of the 20 onboarding pages was viewed, whether the onboarding paywall was viewed or declined, and whether the decline-offer feature was unavailable. If the decline offer is shown, its fixed placement name is paywall_decline_offer_v1.
The app's own checkpoint calls pass only those fixed names and no custom properties. They do not include your onboarding answers, project names, project notes, PDF filenames, or PDF contents. The app source does not call Superwall's identify method or set custom user attributes. The app does not supply a name, email address, or app account ID to Superwall. The SDK nevertheless creates and stores its own random persistent alias and uses the iOS identifier for vendor (IDFV).
SuperwallKit also generates its own app, device, paywall, and purchase measurement while event tracking is enabled. The pinned SDK source and Superwall's privacy-label guide describe SDK attributes that can include the persistent alias and IDFV; app bundle, version, and build; iOS version; device model and type; locale, language, region, and currency; time zone, radio type, and interface style; install and event dates or times; paywall view measurements; and subscription or entitlement status. Superwall's guide also lists possible IP-derived region values. The exact SDK data depends on the SDK event and configuration. The app does not attach project content or onboarding answers to its Superwall events.
For Superwall's current disclosures, see its iOS App Store privacy-label guide and privacy policy.
Optional trial-ending reminder
On onboarding page 19, you can choose whether to enable a reminder. If you grant notification permission and Apple confirms that you have an eligible introductory free trial, the app schedules a notification on your iPhone for 24 hours before the trial end time, if that reminder time has not already passed. This is a local notification scheduled with iOS, not a push notification. The app does not use a push server for this reminder. You can turn it off in the app's Settings.
For Apple's explanation of local notifications, see Scheduling a notification locally from your app.
Purchases and restores
Subscription purchases and restore actions use Apple's App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes payment and subscription transactions. The app reads StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to determine subscription access, and the subscription screen provides Apple's restore-purchases control. The app does not ask you to enter payment-card details in the app.
SuperwallKit may process subscription and purchase measurements as described above. Apple's handling of purchase information is described in Apple's privacy policy.
